All That Jass
If you watched Twin Cities television during the 1970s, you remember Mel Jass—host of Mel’s Matinee Movie on WTCN (Channel 11 before it changed its call letters to KARE) and the best damned pitchman this television market has ever seen. Here’s a short montage of some of his best work, compiled by the Museum of Broadcasting, to commemorate his induction into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2007. Mel died in 1997 at the age of 80.
